At Miramar Vineyards, we source fruit from our own estate vineyards as well as other small growers in the Santa Clara Valley viticulture area. By artfully blending these varietals, we create delicious wines with balanced flavors, silky tannins, and a round finish.
Our winemaking approach starts in the vineyard. We grow only premium grapes and evaluate the fruit closely during harvest season for optimal ripeness. We strive to maintain the inherent characteristics of the fruit through minimal processing. Grapes are crushed and fermented in small lots immediately after harvest and carefully monitored to produce wines that show varietal character and freshness. Fermentations are gently punched down twice a day to extract flavor, tannins, and color.
Our wines are aged in American and French oak barrels for one to two years before bottling. Wine handling throughout the aging process and bottling is gentle, to minimize air contact and preserve the distinctive fruitiness and varietal qualities of the Santa Clara Valley wine region.
